The new one has slightly different programming to prevent an issue with it displaying a low fuel light and check engine light when driven in below freezing temps. Also, disconnect one of your turn signals see if the other one will flash fast or not. The difference between the two years was the change from LED to incandescent bulbs, so the programming in the cluster was changed so it can correctly detect when you have a signal out.
