I have a '09 1125R.
I am looking to increase the volume of the stock exhaust because I like the look of it over after markets. I can not find any info on where to cut the exhaust to remove the baffles. Or is it better to put larger tips on and leave the baffles? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Check out Keda designs. They are a sponsor of this site. He has a modification for the stock muffler which lets it breathe a little better, is a little louder than stock but not over the top and changes the tips to get the exhaust off the rear wheel.

D_adams will rework your stock exhaust and give you the results you desire. He also did a thread showing how do to it yourself if you desire

Original stock exhaust mod. It's a long winded thread though.

Here's the first post of the actual mod that I did. Both posts are a little long really, there's also a lot of ankle biting going on. Either way, the mod works without sacrificing power, sounds decent and also gets the gas off the rear wheel & swingarm.
Follow through the whole thing, the end result after the initial disappointment will show that it works. Add an ebr race ECM to the mix and it will both sound and run good.

And if you really want something worthwhile, take one of Dean's creations and have them ceramic coated!!

I got a whole lot of extra sound last Tuesday.By the time I got home there was a hole about 2.5 inches in diameter in the bottom front of my muffler.Sounded like straight headers and LOUD!!!Still under warranty and already rusted through.I guess I will weld a patch over it until they can get me a new one.

Nm5150: Let me know if you are interested in selling your original stock muffler after it is replaced under warranty.
