Anyone had an issue with this? It's not bad, not even a seep. But it's bad enough that I clean it up and see it again all over the back of the cylinder in a couple of days. Wondering if it was just a valve cover. I can't imaging it being a head bolt. The thing runs great. Just getting grimey. | ||

Well, is it coming from the head cover or the cylinder head? | ||

i had an issue like this when i first got my bike. the problem ended up being the rear valve cover gasket.... simple fix for the most part... | ||

It hasn't been bad enough for me to actually go to the trouble of rotating the engine forward to get to it, so I don't know exactly where it's coming from. I'll find out this weekend. | ||

Do you just see a film of oil over the back side of the rear cyl? What about if you take off the seat? Is there some oil spray up in the wires and cables, maybe on the elbow of the swing arm? Do you ride the bike at upper RPMs? | ||

Mine ended up being the head gasket. Bah. | ||

I'll have to really dig into it and find out. I thought maybe it had happened enough to others that remarks might be "yeah, valve cover gaskets were bad in 08" or something along those lines. | ||

I could just be the breather puking oil. It's not connected to the airbox worth a damn and could easily come off. | ||
