A Mule is a combo between a horse and a donkey. Donkey's are slow...
Thought this was interesting......

"What superior traits does the mule get from her dam, the horse?"

"Endurance. Arabian horses excel in relatively short races (thirty to one hundred miles), but in a really long contest the mule may have an advantage. The Great American Horse Race was held in 1976 to commemorate the nation's bicentennial and the role played by equines in the settlement and development of the United States. The event started in New York and ended in California. Several Arabians competed in the race, but the winner was a mule.
General George Custer (riding a horse) and Buffalo Bill Cody (on a mule) had a long, friendly and informal race across some very rough country. They finished the duel together, but when Cody went to see Custer the next day, he learned that the General's horse had died during the night. It had literally been ridden to death. Cody's mule was fine."

"Speed. Mules are faster than their sires, and the fastest mules can outrun most horses. Of course if you want to run on a quarter-mile track or in the Kentucky Derby, there are horses that excel. Very few riders need (or want) to go faster than a mule will carry them. Mules can outrun cows, and many ranchers and cowboys in the West prefer to ride mules for their ranch work, including roping calves and even pasture-roping cows that need to be doctored in the field."

"Conformation. The mule's dam gives her a more refined body and head than the donkey has. It is said that Quarter Horses are built like weightlifters, and mules like long-distance swimmers. Padre Vieira said of the donkey, "its physical build is anatomically perfect.”

"Agility. This trait is enhanced by the mother horse, and balance and careful surefootedness by daddy donkey. This combination results in an incredibly safe ride. Many people underestimate the ability of their mules to negotiate rough terrain without hesitation or panic."

"Jumping ability. No one I have talked to knows the source of the mule's exceptional jumping ability, so I chalk it up to hybrid vigor. Whatever the source, mules can jump! In the southern states, coon hunters ride mules because of the animal's ability and willingness to jump fences. When the mounted hunter comes to a fence, he doesn't need to look for a gate. He dismounts, climbs over the fence, cues the mule to jump the fence, and they are on their way to the next fence that has to be crossed. The world's equine jumping record of over eight feet was set by a United States Army mule."

Danny:

I know that is your part of heaven out there. Years ago I called a tech book company out of Milwaukie, Oregon. Thought it was pretty cool.

Meeting up with a brother in Colorado this summer, then possibly going on to LA, then possibly up the coast to family in WA state, then back home to Wisconsin.

If I head out to the coast I'll get in touch with you and maybe we could grab a bite to eat. I hear you have some pretty good micro-brews out your way.

Steve - Looking forward to meeting you all. If I show you some of the fun rides just minutes from the metro PDX area you won't want to go home.

Here in California, we have both 7-digit plates and legal lane-splitting.
Best plate I ever saw on a bike said "HOME B4U" on it.

@Vinb: "MUELL" is not in every language the best name. In german it is the word for "garbage".

http://dict.leo.org/ende?lp=ende&lang=en&searchLoc=0&cmpType=relaxed&sectHdr=on&spellToler=&search=Muell

But I have still have seen it here on the tank of an old S1. ; )

@Hybridmomentspass: Do you mean Guzzilla? (The name of a racing Moto Guzzi, I know)

Greetings,
Pascal

That's what I wanted but in Massachusetts vanity plates have to start with letters. I had a second pick of MCXXV that's 1125 in Roman numerals.
