Just wanted to say how easy it was to install the 2010 brake light on my 09'. Two screws, disconnect the old connectors, connect the new, install two screws. It took me all of 10 minutes. | ||

'10 is clear lens LED. Dosmie - you must have gotten yours from American Sport Bike with the connectors already swapped. Stock '10 lights have a small duetsch-style connector where the earlier lights were a large plastic fitting with spade lugs in it. Either way, though, a simple install and a great light! | ||

Not sure that you would need it. The red LED's are much brighter. I didn't try, but lenses are the same pattern. | ||

The stock Buell LED rear light is a sealed unit, so the lenses aren't interchangeable. | ||

The red lens would look good on a red bike, I must say. Perhaps - and don't go crazy with it - you could go to a model / hobby shop and get some Testors spray paint. IIRC they used to make a "window tint" paint, I used to use it on RC cars and stuff. Each coat makes it a little darker...just don't go too dark, or you'll negate the benefit of the brighter LEDs. Just wipe the lens with alcohol first (NOT WHISKY OR BEER!), or you could get fisheyes and spots from oils on the plastic. |
