I had a similar arrangement on my last bike and it had peculiar behaviour. The Ventura rack flexed allot due to the mount pick up points. At speed it felt like a vibration. A riding buddy told me the thing shakes at speed. Around town it worked fine. Also check occasionally for stress factures. Works well on the Blackbird because the mounting point ratios are different. I initially liked it because it allowed you to use both types of bags. It also places the weight beyond and outboard the rear axle. Good to monos, but a Buell doesn't need extra help:-). In the Buell setup, the aim was to keep the weight above the axle or as close as possible and it is rock solid. When you sit on it, you get a reasonable flowing shape over the helmet, back and box. The pillion is true but I don't carry freeloaders:-). |

You can fit the rack the other way around, that would effectively put the box on top of the pillion seat, allbeit that the lid would open backwards.
With the Ventura bag on I normally fit it that way (sat on the pillion seat) with the rack in the "correct" position for even more luggage capacity.
I can't see any flex on the setup for the Buell, it's very solidly mounted and I've carried tents, sealion bags and all sorts on mine  |

A mate has this setup up on his Blackbird. Five millimeter aircraft aluminimum plate to mount the Givi plate, cut to shape. Two by 16x50mm bolts that are a direct fit inside the Ventura L bracket legs. Makes for a quick build. |
