I think this has been covered but the "search" function didn't bring up anything.

I also looked thru my (mechanical) manual with no luck.

My check engine light came on the other day (last Monday), but nothing seemed to be effected. It stayed on for two days. Then the third day leaving work, it went off right after being started to leave. Then came back on the next day at the same point (leaving work).
Then Friday, with the light back on again, the engine seemed to be running odd.

Isn't there a way to check the code it's throwing thru the dash cluster?

Thanks

Mike

Yup, hold down the MODE and TOGGLE buttons down on your dash while turning the key to on. It is in the manual somewhere, probably on the one page you didn't read : D

Let us know what trouble code it has.

If you recently installed a new Erik Buell Racing ECM, it will list a bunch of false historic codes that appear as part of the flashing process.

Frank (Froggy) -

Ha...my fault...!
0113 fault noted.

Over the holidays, I had everything apart to run the valves, install a new stator and install a Barker exhaust system.

Seems while I thought...I had everything reconnected, seems I didn't quite get the air temp sensor "fully"...plugged in..!
That's why the signal was intermittent.
I went over everything else again....

All is well.

Thanks much for the tip.

Mike

I have gone through 2 stators within a year on my 09 R. Luckily, I'm still under warranty.

Similar Question. I put the factory ecm back on the bike, so I can send my Erik Buell Racing back for a reflash. I failed to mention that i still have the stock exhaust. The check engine light is on. Will it eventually go off, or do I have to reset it somehow?

Liquidcooled, that would depend on what is causing your check engine light to come on, look up the codes on your cluster.

Thanks Froggy I got a P0132 FRT 02 sys err and a P0693 LT fan sys err, Do these seem like ECM change out codes?

Liquidcooled, How did you solve the "lt sys fan err"?
I've just done the same thing, putting the stock pipe and ecm back on and received the same code.
The left fan isn't turning either.
