Just got back from vacation and this is the first chance ive had to report on my experience of having the weep fix from a local hd shop.

2 days prior to leaving for my wifes father's house for xmas i noticed the INFAMOUS CLUTCH WEEP!!!

I thought I was done for. And with the warranty up in May, I was sure I was about to go through the worst possible experience in repairing this issue. But I immediately call the "local" hd dealership, 2 hours away in Jacksonville, FL. I call up the service desk because Ive dealt with them before with my XB9SX I owned previously. I tell them of my discovery and ask where we start getting the ball rolling. They place me on hold for no more than 1 minute. When they returned to the line he told me that they had one in stock and just to bring the bike in.
I schedule my drop off the next morning since I had to pass that way on my trip anyways. Next morning the wife and I depart her in the car and me bundled as best as possible for the 2 hr trip on the bike in upper 20 low 30 temps. With stops every 30 mins to get sensation back in my fingers in the heated car, we made it down in fairly good timing and dropped of the back. Process took no more than 10 mins. Reviewed service order and Confirmed that they not reflash the ecm sice I left the ebr ecm in the bike, and we were on our way. Oh ya this was on xmas eve!!! Enjoyed our 2 day trip and I called the day before we left to check progress on the bike. I was told it was ready for pick up the next day.
Next day we head home and get to the dealership at about 1pm. Bike is waiting just in side the maintenance bay doors. Check in and review the work done. They used the new kit and everything. I was amazed that everything went so smoothly. I was sure that it couldnt possibly be so good. I anticipated the clutch going out on me on the 2 hour ride back home.
Well just to share the bike is happily sitting in my garage LEAK-FREE. Still waiting a fresh pair of Pilot Powers 2CT that should be here tomorrow. Lets just hope that it stays that way (fixed) for a long time
Big Kudos to ADAMEC Harley in Jacksonville, FL Baymeadows Store.

I always get that kind of service from HD N Texas in Dallas. I'll be doing the clutch weep fix in the next few days. They found it on the trip to put on the new 2CT, and ordered the parts.

Dreso, its nice to hear some positive feedback for once regarding a dealer, I think if your lucky enough to have a Buell enthusiast of a mechanic at your dealer all is well, unfortunatly that's not the case for all, where bringing the bike to an H-D shop is almost like your a criminal that no one wants to deal with.

The other thing I noticed was your comment

"Confirmed that they not reflash the ecm sice I left the ebr ecm in the bike, and we were on our way."

this again goes to show they know what their doing. My bike has had the "normal" stator failure which my dealer has blamed on the Erik Buell Racing ECM and because of it have informed me that my warranty is VIOD... If had known it to be a big deal I would of swapped the ECM before going to the dealer..big mistake on my side.

Am in the process of trying to sort it out and have had good response from Erik Buell Racing to confirm it is nothing to do with the ECM and that they are going to contact my dealer to try to "fix my issue"

Bottom line, have had no bike for the last 6 weeks which really sucks.

I also had the clutch weep fixed a week before I had the stator problem, only got to ride a couple of times but all seemed good, its funny as whenever you get these bikes back from the shop you almost expect something to go wrong again... with the clutch weep initially i was a little worried about being at a stop and holding the clutch in for too long incase of it going again.... never had that thought on any other bike..

As we all know, when they run, they run great but the reliability factor is starting to get to me, mix that with a dealer and you begin to think about other bikes.

Glad you got your bike back, enjoy it.

YESSIR they have the only Buell tech in NE Fl. the adamec in orange park wants to be able to work on mine because they are closer but it's just easier and less likely to be a problem if i take it to the Baymeadows location. nice to have 3 Harley shops in town(granted all owned by the same fam)
