i got a barkers exhaust for christmas and an E B R ecm. my buddy and i decided to install it tonight. first step was to make sure it would fit into the living room, check! the rest was all a breeze. took less than one beer to finish (stock removal to new install and ecm install) or about one hour.

crappy iphone pics

all that i had for tools at home was a 6MM allen (not socket type) 10mm socket, 13mm wrench, and a screw driver to pry the clamp open oh and some pliers for the allen wrench

I started mine briefly in my garage with straight pipes, and my neighbors came running. I shut it off as soon as I heard how loud it was. They thought my lawnmower had exploded.

Nice bike, nice install pics.

Two things bro. First off, one beer and hour? Sounds like a lot more working was being done and a lot less drinking was going down the old hatch. Second, get yourself some tools! LoL. Hope you like riding with the new system. Clearly its the best bang for the buck on these bikes.

hahaha yeah, everything came apart so easy and went back together so easy there was no real need to stop and take a drink. reading some of the stories on here i was expecting is to be a pain in the arse to get the old one off, not the case at all....at least for me. i have plenty of tools just not at home, i really would like to have my tool box from work at home.

Does Erik Buell Racing make an ignition specifically for the Barker?

You answer a lot of your own questions, Ez, haha.

The Barker can be found at AmericanSportBike.com for $395 for the brushed aluminum finish or $445 for the black powdercoated finish. I am not sure how much shipping is. If you want a quiet core to knock some of the sound off, it's $20 more for each core (you only need one—or you can go without one and ride wide-open like me—but they make different sizes for different levels of attenuation).

The E B R ECM specifically for the Barker is $250—same price as the other non-programmable ECMs from them. A re-flash is $25+$10 for return shipping. I actually just had this done because when I bought my ECM they didn't have a Barker map developed just yet. Just sent them my ECM with a note explaining what I wanted done (flash the Barker map on, and a check for the charging relay harness capability) with a check for $35 and blammo—heading back to my door by this Friday (sent before Christmas so I knew it would take a little while. I was in no rush since the bike's down for a little while here anyway).

I see that Barker with the silencer and the Erik Buell Racing ecm is an impressive amount of bang for the buck, without a lot of hassle. Looks cool as well, lighter - works for me - definitely on the list - thank you! Just got the GPR! - Safety first - lol

The Barker can be scored for $355.50 on a few of the Buell forums with $25.00 US flat rate shipping.
