I am looking to get a new tire, I am going to be doing some trackdays, and also doing some commuting.

I am looking at the Michelin Pilot Power 2ct's, anyone have any other recommendations?

Buellmojo,
why the pilot pure, how does it compare to the pilot power 2ct, grip wise and mileage wise?

Pirelli Supercorsa Pro, far superior tyre to the Pures IMO....not good milage though.

I personally think the feel and grip is much better with the Power Pure compared to the PP 2ct.
I am not sure if the cost difference justifies one being better than the other though, but I do like the Power Pure better myself.

I have used the Pilot Power, the 2ct, the Power Pure, and the Road 2 from Michelin, and I have liked them all (different bikes)...My 1125R has only had the Pilot Power and the Power Pure on it, so a true fair comparison on an 1125 for the 2ct I can not offer.

In regards to mileage I would have to rate the two as similar if not nearly exactly the same.

Some people swear by the Dunlop Qualifier Sportmax Q2, I ran them on one of my bikes, and I really did not like them at all, the mileage was not good either, it is a heavy bike though (500+ lbs.).

Thanks for the replies.
When I looked at the power pure I thought it was a rain tire, it seems to have a lot of groves for rain.
I don't ride in the rain, so I didn't really look into it much.
But if you think the grip is better then the 2ct's, then I will take a look at it.

I am hesitant to go with the q2's, from what I have read the q2's do not get as good of mileage or grip as the pilot power 2ct's.
From what I have read on here and the reviews I have read, the Michelin Pilot power 2ct's seem to be the best tire for the 1125 for aggressive/ track riding while still getting good mileage.

I was never big on Michelin, having run Dunlops for years and years. At first I like the Corsas but in cold weather they are dodgy and they wear really fast. The Michelin Pilot Power 2 CTs are my favorite tire for the 1125r so far. Last a long time and maintain even wear so much less flat spotting than the Corsas. I've gone through 3 sets of 2CTs so far and will stick with them because I have complete confidence in them.

Admittedly, my XB does not have the tire shredding power of an 1125, but I have about 600 or so miles on a set of Q2s and they perform at least as well as the Corsa III's I used previously...they hold a line better than the Pirellis did when THEY were new...Mileage...mehh...dunno yet. I'll trade wear for traction.

Rode in the rain last Sunday (about 200 or so miles) and they did very well...one of my riding buddies uses them for track days on his 750 Gixxer and he loves 'em.

I've 2CT'S on the Ducati and think they're excellent. However, my 1125 has the new(ish) Dunlop Sportsmart and they get warm very quickly and work well in the wet. Looks like the Dunlops are going to last longer than most too.

I think it depends on the rider.
I was at the track on my CR and pitted next to someone with an 1125R. He had the PP2CTs on. I didnt get to ride until the afternoon so I got to see his tires throughout the morning. Now judging from his shredded up tires I assumed he was a very fast rider since he was very little. I was 265lbs without gear at the time and was running Pirelli Dragon Super Corsas. Thought I was going to finally get to run with an R on track for comparison.
Well I was surprised when I finally got on track at his pace. Very slow. I lapped him every session. Not saying anything bad about the him(super nice guy) just saying his tires were toast. By the end of the day his tires were shredded and my Pirellis looked basically fine after 4 sessions...and they were take offs.

If the rider is aggressive I suggest Pirelli Dragon SuperCorsa

WHAT ?!?!
suspension set up had nothing to do with it?
we have shredded pirelli and mich worked better..
set up should be more of a concern than tires at this point for you..
DUDE..CAN'T GO WRONG WITH ALOT OF THE TIRES..GO HAVE FUN..RELAX..YOUR NOT AT THAT POINT WHERE TIRES ARE A "MAJOR" CONCERN ..WHEN YOU REACH THAT POINT...YOU'LL KNOW WHAT TIRES YOU LIKE AND WANT !!
set your suspension up...1 priority

i never said suspension doesnt have anything to do with it. As I said I was just making an observation. I couldnt see how such a little guys tires could be so whooped while riding at a slower pace than someone 100 lbs more.

If mileage is your number one concern, from my experience, the Michelin Pilot Road 2's have filled that bill for me....again this is not on an 1125, but they have served me well for many mountainous adventures....I am in no way the most aggressive of riders, but I do wear my tires to the sidewall lip, and from my experience the PR 2's grip well, but not as well as the more aggressive tires mentioned above (PP,PP2's,Power Pure,Q2's,Super Corsa's etc. etc.)..

I have used the PR2's on the bike, but I don't think the PR2 will fair well on the track. I think I'm going to go with the Pilot Power 2CT, thanks for all the replies!

stick with your first instinct. i replaced my rear with the 2ct. awesome tire (even when paired with the pirelli front lol)

other guy could have had the tire pressure too low also, including set-up.

What tire pressure do you run at the track with the pilot power 2ct's?

is there a schedule for your track days? I'd love to come do one with yous. I get pins out of my wrist in 2 weeks, rods out in 4 so I should be ready to go by spring!

30-32 psi works good on the track

the old michelin dot's used to be 25 psi but they were a harder carcase. i've known some to make the mistake of runnin the 2ct at too low of pressure. on the track. could have been me...

I found the PP 2CT handle lower pressure much better than the CorsaIII. When new I run them at 32 front and 34 rear. As they get thinner and thinner I increase the pressure a couple of pounds to about 36F 38R. For street riding.

+1 for the Diablo Rosso. Traction is pretty much on par with the Corsa, and with a little better life expectancy

Ok, so what about non-track riding. I have 3500 miles on the bike, and the dealer says the rear tire won't pass annual inspection when I get it checked next time. Any experience with dual compound sport bike (sport touring?) tires on a CR?

+1 for the Michelin 2CTs, much better price than the stock Pirelli. I like the handling of the 2CTs a little better than the Corsa IIIs. I am hoping for a little better mileage with the 2CTs but the jurry is still out. I got 3,000 on the rear and 6,000 on the front with the Corsa IIIs.

Daniii,
As mentioned above I run Michelin Pilot Road 2's on a bike similar to the CR, but the bike is quite a bit heavier than the CR...regardless I am very happy with the performance and mileage so far, it looks like I might get somewhere around 8K miles out of the rear, in my mind I think I push them quite hard at times...again the bike is heavy, and I am no light weight myself.
