I'm in need of forks or a fork rebuild and I'd like to throw a set of 1125 forks on my Firebolt...

As I understand it there's a difference between the lower triple that won't let me use the 1125 lower triple on the firebolt. Sooo...

Could one of you take a caliper out to your bike and get me a measurement?

I need the diameter of the 1125 forks at the upper and lower triple. I've heard you can work the 1125 forks into the older trees but I want to be sure before I go spending a bunch of money : ).

Thanks in Advance : ).

07 Firebolt 53.5mm Upper 56.0mm Lower
10 1125R 53.8mm Upper 56.0mm Lower

Digital vernier that disagrees with my micrometer but the relative measurements are good

The fork Centerline to centerline distance is different on an 1125 than a firebolt. Not by much, about .05" or so IIRC. I've got that number at work somewhere. Since the Wheel is the same, putting the 1125 forks up into Firebolt triples is going to create a small wheel fit problem.

I swapped triple clamps on my 1125 for the lightning clamps (to use superbike style handle bars). The triple clamps are about 2.2 mm wider for the 1125, fork tube diameters are the same as the XB's I can't tell you about length but they will physically fit the clamps (note: do not mix upper and lower clamps because of the spacing difference, either both 1125 clamps or both Firebolt/lightning clamps)

Thanks a ton... I'm sure I can solve the wheel fitment issue (Have Bridgeport and Lathe at my disposal).

Looks like the project is a go.

Thanks all for your help : ).
