My bro is inheriting my buell 1125. He wants to get an exhaust for it, he is looking at the jardine rt5 and the fmf apex. I thought the fmf had to be repacked frequently. I also thought that if he gets an exhaust, he would have to get an ebr ecm or do something to adjust the fuel. Anybody have an exhaust that has not messed with the fueling?

I ran the Jardine on my 1125 for a week with the stock ecm. It ran OK, but was so lean, it got hot fast. I am running the Jardine Pro-tune, but the Buell racing ECM would be better.

His name is Mr. CheckEngineLight. : )

Race ECM is a must have regardless of which exhaust you run.

I've been running the RT5 with the ProTune 3 for about a year and a half. It's "adequate," but I've convinced Mrs. Claus to shop at Erik Buell Racing this Christmas . . .

Every slip-on we tested in the exhaust shootout was LEAN! So,yes,Erik Buell Racing ecm needed---or some way to adjust fueling.

I ran mine for a while with a HMF muffler and stock ecm. It ran okay, no noticeable difference in performance, just noisy. Once the Erik Buell Racing ecm became available, I installed it and WOW!!! Night and day difference in performance.
