I have a small but noticeable amount of crud around the bottom of one of my fork legs. I actually have never had a busted fork seal on a bike, but most of what I read says that there will be oil on the fork, which there isn't. The other leg has none. I have only 1200 miles on the bike. I've got a track day planned in less than 2 weeks and would rather not chance the bike sitting in the shop and making me miss the day. Is this possibly nothing to worry about, or a sign of an impending total failure? Thanks. | ||

racers change their fork oil more than you or I ever will. My experience with fork servicing is at 5000-7000 mile intervals. I am always teased by the shop guys telling me about the sludge that came out. If you are thinking about some spirited riding or track duty I would suggest that you speak to the local racers in your area and see where they are getting their suspensions serviced. Getting to the next level can be quicker with the help of experts. | ||
