I know this has been posted a million times before, but I haven't seen any recently, and of course no luck with the search function.

Does anybody know of any good deals on Michelin PR2s? My Corsa rear is shot after 5500 miles and I'm ready for a new set all around. I'd heard of $200 shipped for a set, is that still a possibility?

Or any reason I should be looking at a different tire?

Oh, and what is the difference, if any, between the PR2 and the PR2 CT?

Same tire. The Pilot Road 2 tire is a touring tire intended for long life.

The 2CT bit comes from the fact the PR2 borrows dual-compound technology from Michelin's sport tire range.

Normally, I'd not recommend the PR2 on the 1125r as a good choice, but if you got 5500 out of the Corsa III, it will be just fine for you.

Yeah I live in the very flat and dull Central Illinois and ride mostly in the city on my CR. I just want something with decent life and good grip, I may start trackdays next season.

I put Pilots on my firebolt right before I traded it off a year ago, and I really liked them compared to my metzlers. And even my metzlers were much better than these corsas.

Well, opinions about tires vary. I DO NOT share your opinion that PR2s are better than the Corsa III.

They aren't even in the same universe in terms of grip.

I got a rear pr2 for $155 from motorcycle superstore. I like the pr2, i have it at 38 psi, and i use my 1125 to commute, i have about 1500 miles it and it still looks brand new.

My last set of Corsa III's are about done at 3,500 miles...and I agree with Jdugger..they have awesome grip...I am debating if I should go with PP 2ct's or the Diabo Rosso Corsa...but I don't know anybody that has run them yet (they are kind of pricy)...if to just go with normal Pilot Powers...decisions, decisions. My riding buddy (who rides a ZX10r) swears by the 2ct's but another buddy swears by the Dunlop Q2's....ok now I'm more confused...where is my select-a-tire dartboard??? ; )

I have read a lot of tire threads on this forum, and for the 1125, it seems most people like the pilot powers. I am going to put a pilot power 2 ct on the front of my bike when the stock tire wears down, and then a pilot power 2ct on the back when the pilot road 2 wears down. Everyone on here that i have talked to has spoken highly of the pilot power 2ct for this bike.

I've been the Q2 parrot since I tried them out earlier this year on some insane mountain runs with video proof of how well they did. As Freight_dog posted, $210 delivered here: http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no =7780

Probably a little more performance and a bit less mileage than the OP (XBniner) is looking for, but for those blessed with twistier roads, here are 2 reviews where the Q2 beat the other popular "hypersport" tires:

I got my ass handed to me at Barber by a Ducati 749 shod with Q2.

Alas, that day was quite the pin in my balloon!

At STREET operating temps, the PR2 does just fine at a knee dragging pace.

Finally got my new tires on, I went with the Pilot Power 2CT. They are excellent, huge improvement over the Corsas! I know some people like the Corsas but I don't live in the desert or ride on the track so here in Illinois they never really get to the temperature where I can trust them. The PPs are the complete opposite, tons of grip and basically no warm up time.

I also took the opportunity to finally set up my suspension. Wow. I feel like I've been missing out for 6000 miles... It always bugged me that it didn't handle as well or feel as good as my 9R, but now it's much better!

The vibration in the bars is all but gone, the turn-in is effortless, I don't have to fight it thru corners anymore, and the front wheel actually seems to come up easier now.

Whole new bike. Anybody running the stock settings on their bike should take the rest of the day off and go do this. Seriously.
