Recently, I've noticed a constant loud clicking sound coming from the transmission. It basically sounds like a large sewing machine working overtime. It seems to be happening in all gears but it's most noticeable in 3rd at 3500rpm or higher. If I pull in the clutch, it goes away. I've noticed it for a while but it does seem to be getting louder as I put more miles on the bike. It's up to 3000 miles now.

Anyone experience this?

Are you sure you have the proper amount of oil? No joke. My bike sounds like a coffee grinder when it gets a just a tiny bit low.

Thanks Boogiman1981. You've discovered I'm not a mechanic! : ) So it can't be caused by low oil from the looks of things.

Mine is a 2009 model. Just re-checked the oil following the procedures stated in the manual and it's fine. If anything, it may be a bit too full actually.

boogiman1981,
only the 2010's have the sight glass, or 09's with 2010 engines.

captjoe,
make sure you preform hot check on the oil, the cold check is not very accurate IMO.
When i do a cold check on my bike, it shows the oil barely at the min on the dipstick, but when i do a hot check, the oil is right at the full mark.

Well it's been to the doctor and after having ridden it, they tell me it's not making any sound that seems out of the ordinary. It sounds good in there opinion. At least it has a case open and if something does get progressively worse in the future, I can refer back to the old "But you said..." line. Thanks for the help guys!
