Hi Guys

When im cleaning the R on paddock stands if i spin the front wheel slowly i can hear a clicking or ratchet type noise for part of the wheels rotation.

Aside from this the wheel turns smoothly and there is no play.

Is this likely to be bearings?

Thanks

Stu

Check your rotor bushings and make sure they aren't loose or at an angle...

brake pads dragging? pry thrm back with a screwdriver and see if the noise is still there. if it is, you can pluck/pry out the bearing seals (side pieces of tough plastic) and get a look at the bearings and then stuff tehm back into place. rust in there is a bad thing.

I wouldn't mess with the bearing seals, they'll never seal back up right... Then you're looking at new bearings for sure.

i'm presuming he checked for obvious interference/fit issues...
ya know, i wouldn't mess with my bearing seals either, but i don't know what else would be making noise of the front wheel. ... he might allready be looking at new front bearings ... just the outside of them

any one else have any other suggestions?

I have one of those stethoscope tools with the metal point. I would find a point in the wheel rotation where you can get it to click with slight movement possible, the try to isolate the location with that tool. Or maybe a screw driver or ear near the bearings then on the caliper. Hopefully that makes sense.
