>>>>THe "Erik Buell abandoned me" sentiment that seems to be popping up, is very lame and DEAD wrong.

It's stupid.

Harley-Davidson Motor Co. has ALL the engineering data, research and complete responsibility.

In fact, it would be illegal for Erik or Erik Buell Racing to get involved.

Go to Ford and ask them to do warranty work on your Toyota to acquaint yourself with reality.

Let's see HD wanted to be rid of Buell, Buell has his name on the bikes so he will get some blowback from the problems.

This issue WILL hurt the 1190 when it comes out (if ever)

The dumb comments about "Your not riding it right" are just that! A machine sold as a street machine should be usable on the street. This includes a system that will supply the electrical needs at all rpm, no-burning parts in contact with the rider, brakes that work on both ends.

Thankfully its only a few things that need fixing on the 1125s. But stop fixing what broke and fix whats doing the breaking.

If Erik should be involved to correct these problems, so be it because legal or not his name in on the Bike and it does have a reflection on him.

The only thing I would like to see Erik Buell Racing do is sell a "retrofit" kit to resolve the stator issue. I don't want to see him do it because he "has to" or is "compelled to". I want to see him do it because it would sell, and it could help fund his racing/street efforts. It would also GREATLY help out current 1125 owners with a fatal flaw.

Erik Buell "abandoned" Buell owners in the same way McArthur "abandoned" the Philippines.

(And it will end the same way as well ; ) ).

I'm with Avc ... Good approach. I love my Buell bikes as much as the next guy, but I'm unlikely to hold onto a bike that I can't trust to not strand me miles from home, on what sounds to be a known issue.

I'd sure agree with that. I've kicked around doing something. There would appear to be a fertile market for a "fix done right" without regard to the HD "just enough to get them off our back" mindset.

I'd like to see Erik Buell Racing do it, do it right and sell if for a fair price.

I'd sure like to see the specs for the 1190RS stator.

Court and Tpoppa just summed it all up.

The obsessive nature of high level engineers is pretty much a given. Pit Bull's sleep, engineers don't.
At that level of IQ this issue has already been resolved. Implementation is the real story.

Nightripper is an idiot! Why do you continue to come on this site if you have such negativity to spew? A forum is here for people to discus their issues and or problems and insight about their bikes. The vast majority of people who own these bikes do not have these issues and/or failures that the minority have experienced and therefor do not share any info on this forum. Take a look at the forums of the "big 4 Jap bikes", they also have issues that have upset some of their owners. For that matter,so does the big name Italian bikes. You can take a look at any of them and find ongoing issues that have not been addressed. Your negativity is unappreciated and quite frankly, I am tired of reading your nonsense. I guess its my own fault though, I continue to think that you might have something constructive to write but you have proven me wrong every time. What a shame!

Froggy... thats it? You are not going to threaten to "get rid" of Nighttripper like you did to me? Seems as if his comment would be more BS than anything I've ever written.

Actually... its kinda creepy... seems like you and others on here have some sorta man crush on Erik that makes you blind to the bikes very real problems. That or you guys have been very lucky not having any problems... or you are "track-only" riders... orrrr some of you actually own stock in a stator rewind business or something... cause this so-called fix sure gets pushed hard on this site.

Thecowboyblack... once again.. sorry about your problems but... well.. I called that one... what happened to your bike is exactly what happened to mine... hence why I traded it in.

Not all 1125's have problems... matter of fact... few of them do... I believe only those '09's manufactured up until Sept have issues but... these charging issues are dramatic and quite honestly unacceptable.

Usanigel- Avc +1... for this exact reason I wrote Erik Buell Racing a letter... a couple days later they replied... I posted the entire contents of the letter in one of these threads. It was very tactful, professional, and insightful. In short the rep stated that they have no evidence that a charging issue exists. The #'s do not justify the R&D costs to troubleshoot.

Nice one... I do understand their (and HD's )reasoning for not creating an actual fix... there are too few of us with problems. That doesn't mean its right though... hence why I held HD accountable and get on another bike.

I look forward to all the creepy "I gotta man-crush on Erik" flames in response to my comment. (sarcastic).

btw... I dig Buells as much than the next guy (for some reason I feel obligated to constantly say this... even though I bought 2 Buell's at full price)... what I do not dig is buying a bike that (for a short manufacturing period) turned out to be a mountain of stress.

Baggh, I for one, do not have any query with you and in the past have actually agreed with some of what you have said. However, this Nightripper character is rude and condescending and I don't believe (if memory serves) he/she has ever owned an 1125R/CR and therefor has no business discussing his slanted views about the 1125R/CR. In every post, he rants about the Buell and praises the Japanese bikes. It gets really old...

I hear you Father_of_an_era... I definitely wasn't referring to you. I agree with you that if somebody who doesn't even ride Buells (specifically an 1125) has no business trolling, as Froggy puts it, an 1125 forum and starting static. If he does ride the Buells... well... what he says is valid.

The thing is... I think the guys on here that get upset about people that are indeed having legitimate problems... to the point of them issuing personal attacks, threatening to delete their BWB accounts, etc is quite sad. They do not understand how frustrating it is for the few of us that have major problems. I think a real community of riders would offer a bit of compassion, understanding, concern for the company\bikes we luv, and support... not flaming personal bashing.

Also... the many that do get upset if problems with the 1125 are noted need to get thicker skinned. I work in the games industry as an artist. Well... not everything I put down is a pristine work of art to some... and I, at times, receive negative critiques... I look at even the bad ones as helpful IF they are legit and not just some misc. flaming. All points... praise and "I'd like it better if you did X,Y,Z.." are constructive and useful to my growth as an artist.... but you cant please everybody.

Anyway... just about all comments or thoughts... good and bad... should be listened to and accepted. If Buell wishes to grow... he should listen... and I'm sure he is. The people on here that get upset, as I said, need to get a thicker skin... listen and learn rather than dismiss... and offer true rider concern.

If they do not... oh well... thats unfortunate

Agreed! I have become very appreciative of this site because of the issues discussed on it. Though I have not had to deal with many of the problems that some others (like yourself) have, the information (given freely and without an expectation of appreciation I might add) on this site does allow me to become more in-tuned with my bike and provides a lot of helpful insight on what I may or may not need to expect in the future and how to remedy certain things if a problem does arise. It also allows for those who are interested,to see some of the advancements that others have made in the looks and/or performance aspects. And, while I don't care for or condone the specific and deliberate attacks on others, I just can't stand to see people like this nightripper person continue their pointless blabber and ill content for a motorcycle they really know nothing about. I love the Honda CBR 1000RR and like the BMW 1000R but I don't hold those bikes above my own and I would not infiltrate other websites just to trash their bikes and praise my own. You on the other hand have a great deal of legitimacy in my eyes and should be allowed to express your concerns with out fear of repercussions.

Man crush. LOL 2x

I agree with what is being said. In a perfect world all women have perfect skin and tight .... Guess what? We don't live in a perfect world. There is nothing wrong with buying American and believing that an American company can compete in the International market space. If that means a bike with developmental issues so be it but please be honest enough to develop an upgrade path. The part that amazes me is that HD gets all the heat when it really belongs to Bombardier-Rotax.

Yup! The responsibility should be placed among those who deserve it. Though, HD is also on that list with Rotax. Someone should stand up and take a respectable stance concerning these issues but is it realistic? I don't think it will happen but I hope it does.

Rotax may be punished in the market place by producers. The classic business school case study of a certain soup company was whenever there was an outbreak of bad soup they would run out and settle right away. This is done knowing that the sooner you got out of the public eye the sooner your business would resume. The airlines are the same way.

When highly paid executives can't even make a freshman business school decision related to maintaining a Brand and it's value...

Who would want to use a Rotax for anything knowing that they will leave you hanging in the wind? Aprilia moved on.

Aprilia damn near went under, and only a huge investment of capital made the recovery of the company and eventual V4 project possible.

The reason the RSVR motor is in the Spyder and other products is Aprilia wasn't able to maintain minimums and lost exclusivity.

Quintessential troll.

Listen up pontificators. If you are not here to discuss the bike and help folks by contributing positively to the site, then you don't belong here. If you'd rather belittle folks who admire Erik Buell, or who appreciate Buell motorcycles, you'll be shown the door in short order.

Add three more to the ash heap of BadWeB trolls.
