i've read several threads about the clunk. after getting mine back from harley this past friday. i think mine has developed the clunk although i'd describe it more as a clank than a clunk. when going out of my drive into the street the bottom of the fairing kinds slaps the fairing stay. this however sounds a lot more like steel moving in aluminum to me. any pointers on how to approach or word this to them when i drop it off, again...

iv noticed this on mine also, riding back from work today. almost sounds like the tripple tree has a crack somewhere and is making the sound when using the front brake and accelerating...

That's the steering head, and it's relatively common.

Loosen the steering step and cap then tighten back to spec.

I do it on my track bike probably twice a season.

Make sure you loosen the pinch bolts on the lower triples when doing the retorque.
