I needed a new fairing bracket after a slight tip over in the garage. It's the large bracket that holds the instrument cluster, mirrors, and the top of the lower fairing. I ordered one from my local harley dealer on August 6th. It has been back ordered. I then found the part I needed on Erik Buell Racing website. I bought it for a lot less, and received it in a couple of days. I am now just curious how long it is going to take to get the part from harley. Anyone want to lay odds? I have not canceled the order.

I am currently not aware of any backorder on the fairing stay, but if I had to venture a guess I would say its vendor direct and approx 5 week wait. Not sure what is holding up the one you ordered.

Mine actually arrived pretty quick --- about 3 weeks if I remember correctly. Now the AIRBOX took nearly 3 months . . .

$130ish new from the dealer.

I always found it hilarious back before the closing, people would be selling used and damaged ones for Firebolts on Ebay for well over $200, easily twice the brand new price.

I needed a left mirror and when I ordered from the dealer the system said back-ordered with no date.
They received it a week later.

It is really funny how sporadic the parts availability is. I went to the same dealer for a clutch slave cylinder kit thinking I would not be able to get one anytime soon, and had one the next day. It was while I was working on replacing the clutch cylinder that the bike fell off the stand and cracked the fairing stay. I fixed one issue, and created a new one.

It's not just our bikes...
My wife crashed my V-Rod on Aug 5th and the handlebars have been back-ordered for a while. Not due until "the first part of Oct".

However, it's just going to get worse for us. :-(

By the way, I picked up my fairing stay from The Harley dealer this week. I have been riding with the take off fairing stay from Erik Buell Racing for a while now. Anybody need a brand new fairing stay?
