Like others with the e-br race ecm I had issues with a stall off idle, I did stop this by increasing the fuel by 10% in that region but when I data logged the bike with Tunerpro I found the bike was not asking for that amount of extra gas. I then tried altering the warm up table to match the stock ecm and then changing values but did not work. I left the stock warm up table and looked at the timing tables, big differences between stock and race off idle area so changed race ecm to match stock with some smoothing and the bike now has zero stalling or even hesitation off idle even when overnight cold.
Hopefully this will help others with the problem. here are the changes I made to the race ecm timing. Values shown need adding or subtracting from existing values in the race ecm timing tables.

Front

Rear

Race ecm is for stock exhaust and K&N filter.

TPS reset did the trick for me the one time I had this issue..altering the timing on the Erik Buell Racing ECM seems extreme.

Fresnobuell,
Even after TPS reset a few of us, especially for some reason many in the UK, still had problems with stalling off idle.
I am one of those people that when they have a problem can not let it go, I keep on trying till I find a fix, and actually enjoy the challenge.
I should have said that if anyone wants to try this back up your bin file before doing so. You can then always go back.

I posted a little while ago about the same issue. Reset my TPS and haven't had that issue since. Haven't ridden that much since also but when I did ride no issues.

Stand by for more info.

I'm in the UK and have the off idle stall issue... But it only happens once per ride (i.e. immediately after start up) and if I blip the throttle on the drive once before riding it's fine... I think I can live with that one issue.

But thanks for the info - if I ever get around to using something to remap the ECM I'll bear that in mind : )

Stuuk,
Good tutorial by forum member Xoptimizedrsd, who is one of the people who gave us the software, on youtube.

Just looked at my stock ecm file and the timing is different front to rear, no idea why yours is not, bit of a mystery there. My sportster is different front to rear too.

Jules,
Yes, that is what I had with mine. What I had not noticed so much is after every start on first pull off I would get a slight hesitation even when it did not stall, that has gone as well, you really notice the difference when it stops doing it.

Steve.

A while ago some members with the race ecm wanted the sidestand cutout feature retained, I think only some parts of the world got this feature as standard, it gives a "side stand" message on the IC if the bike is put in to gear with the stand down and cuts the engine if you try to pull off with the stand down.
To reactivate this in the race ecm with Tunerpro Rt, go to flags, Unset (remove tick from box) in "Shifter configuration - enable shifter feature" and save. then set (insert tick in box) in "starter interlock setup - sidestand interlock enabled" and save. Save the bin file and burn to ecm and it is working again.

Yes, mine is an 09, but I think it is the XDF file version you have that changes the row and column values, it is recommended you download the latest XDF file from time to time as new updated versions with fixes are issued periodically.

i think it's the difference between the bue2d and the bue3d ecms. I can adjust the timing table axis to match under the axis:timing table RPM axis tab. maybe ill fiddle with it and see if the 09 setup works better.

dont forget guys you can also go into the tools tab.Preference tab. from there go to general tab. from there top right select reverse rows box and reverse columns box so that the low values on tps is at the bottom and low rpm is on the left.

just please remember to save a stock ecm fetch for backup if you make bad changes.

also a new version plugin and tunerpro file is out and uploaded to tunerpro.net

all free all the time.

glad you all like the info and program...

Xoptimizedrsd,
Many thanks to you and all involved with bringing us this fantastic software, I have downloaded the latest versions and will try them tomorrow, this program is going to keep me busy trying things for a long time, I am the type of person that just enjoys seeing "what if I do this". I always back up changes every single time and also to a second computer and a flash drive so I can always go back to any point including the originals for each ecm. you are right to point out the importance of doing so.
Once again, thank you for your work.
Steve.
