so my friend & i picked up two identical 09 cr's bout two month ago. i noticed two things that appear to be different though. if we both ride the same distance, the same style at the same temps and we shut off, his bikes fans will run consistantly longer than mine. mine will run the fans for about 5-10 seconds after i shut off every time. his, about half a minute to a full minute! also his bike has been stalling out a few times when pullin in the clutch or taking off at a light or whatever. i thought i remember hearing that the latest flash changed the fan operation & stalling issue? what i'm thinking is mine has the latest flash & maybe his don't?

also, we were told at pick-up that both bikes had the latest flashes & stator harness relay doo-hicky..

anyone know what flash i have?

Sounds like you have different flashes. You need to hook it up to a HAL9000 to check the version. Apparently the Hardly computer system has it on file as well, which can be checked with your VIN.

Check coolant levels.

Bet the longer fan runtime equates to a lower coolant level.

i'm really really REALLY trying to avoid the dealer at all costs, so i can call just call with my vin? excellent.
we also checked our coolant at 500 miles and both were pretty much empty in the over flow, just a little bit in there. better check that now 1500 miles later! (i didn't top off)
its nice having a buddy with the exact same bike to compare & stuff right down the road!
