I finally got around to repairing my leaky clutch assembly today, and my initial thought as to the cause seems to have been confirmed. The spherical nut oring was junk, almost 1/4" larger in diameter than the new one. What happened?

Last labor day I low sided on the right side. The clutch cover puck did it's job, but the vent got ground closed. Not thinking i rode this way for several hundred miles, until the clutch started acting up and the puck got pushed off and there was a ton of fluid behind it. I realized then the vent was pluged and opened it up. The clutch worked properly since, but the damage was done leak wise. So if ya lowside, make sure the vent is still functional or you'll blow out the spherical nut oring. I'd suggest checking the vent hole every so often to make sure it's open.

I will say that it's a pretty easy job. Even tho I'm sure the spherical nut oring was the culprit, I went ahead and changed all the orings and the sleeve just to be safe, even tho all that stuff looked good.
