Hey guys, I was just wondering how long it may take before I get a response to 2 emails I have sent to Erik Buell Racing about what type of ECM would be best for a KEDA exhaust and K&N filter. I am not in too much of a hurry given that it may take 6-8 weeks to get the exhaust. I just want to have everything in order so that I can put it all together as soon as I get the exhaust in. Thanks, Paul.

Well, with both...er, ALL of the staff members at the races, it may be the beginning of the week before you hear anything.

Remember - this is a SMALL company.

They can ALL fit in the van to go to races. Not "all" the race staff...."all" of the COMPANY.

Concise emails with concise titles get good response:

Subject - (model year) 1125R (or CR), Keda (model) exhaust, K&N - which ECM?

Body - I have a (year) 1125 and will be putting on a Keda (model) exhaust. I already have a K&N filter. There are / are not any other mods to the bike (if there are, like a denoid, list them). Do you have an ECM that will optimize this setup? I know you've been at the races, but when might I be able to expect one once I order it? I am in no rush, the exhaust will take 6-8 weeks anyway. I appreciate your advice, thank you!

In my experience, anywhere from the next day up to 3 weeks if you aren't actually placing an order. They will respond, but sometimes it takes a while for them to wade through their backlog.

I actually got a response within a few hours. I was very impressed.

I just got a response back from Michael after a month... He said he's spending the weekend going through his emails.

No, I didn't mean to come off as a presumptuous jerk about it. I know they are busy and I know they are a small group. I was just curious about the average length of response time. I didn't mean to be pushy or a bother. Maybe I didn't word it correctly in my original message, I tend to do that indirectly I suppose. But, given all of that, I do appreciate the feedback. Thanks, Paul.

I ordered the ecm, had a couple of questions back and forth with the tech email person and was answered each time within 30 minutes. But then again I am very funny and charming.

I was sent an email from Michael from Erik Buell Racing September 6th. Then, after I replied to the email, I received a response back from Michael that night. So, I can answer my own question now. Michael is a cool cat and given that he responded during the weekend of the races, all I can say is he provided outstanding service and great insight. Thanks to Michael and the rest of the Erik Buell Racing crew! So, I just ordered the ECM from Erik Buell Racing and can't wait to put the ECM, KEDA exhaust and K&N filter on the bike and take her for a spin....

michael hooked it up for me today. needed a new ignition coil; they sent it out at wayy below what i could have bought it for at the stealership, plus i picked up a race ECM; all shipped to my door by friday.

you can tell all those dudes have their hands full, but still definitely get stuff done!

I have nothing but great things to say about Erik Buell Racing and the service...not to mention the pricing and shipping cost. All very reasonable in my book. Also, hooking us up with parts when possible--not only way faster but in most cases way cheaper.

They don't gouge us even when they are in a position to do so.

What a great resource.
