Alright so I just bought my 2008 1125R three weeks ago...had it in for noise...which they said was normal...anyways now I got it back and the clutch friction zone is all the way to the handle bar...which normally it was 3/4 out...what is up anybody know? The fluid is filled fine also. | ||

Sounds like the seal on the puck let loose. It's a known issue and there is a fix for it. Take it to the dealer and get it repaired under warranty. (Message edited by mountainstorm on August 22, 2010) | ||

Snellenj - do you mean that the clutch disengages too soon? (i.e. with the lever pulled in the bike still wants to creep forward)? If so you may want to try to bleed the system, or pop the puck off to see if the seal is leaking.. | ||

ok, thanks a lot, I will call dealer today. No the bike does not creep forward with the clutch pulled in, but if I start to let go it does go forward. | ||

Might just need to bleed it with fresh fluid. | ||

I changed the fluid yesterday and found t difficult to bleed (ran line completely empty.) Used the service manual instructions and had a hard time getting fluid down the line. I don't have a vaccum bleeder (manual states you might need one to get the fluid down the line) but we rigged a fluid evacuator and got the job done. We probably shouldn't have emptied the line completely before putting the fresh fluid in. Just a heads up. | ||

Thanks I will remember that Fresnobuell. I have an appointment for wednesday...they are going to print me off the instructions so next time I can do it myself...of course with a vacuum bleeder | ||

You can do it with a glass jar and a bit of tube, too, but it can be a bit of a PITA. Helps to put pressure on the lever, crack the bleeder then finger-tight the bleeder before you hit the bar. Repeat until perfect. | ||
