I just got home a little while ago, just did another 500+ mile day on my 1125R with absolutely zero issues, and was getting near 50mpg average (didn't do exact math yet). I love this bike, the only thing I like better is that Multistrada I test rode last weekend.

I still can't see how you get 50+ mpg Froggy... You have wrist control from the gods... I'm getting 31mpgs, before and after getting exhaust and ECM.

I still have plenty of fun. If you know what you are doing, you can still outrun other vehicles in the twisties and keep your average fuel economy high. Also, when you ride 30k miles a year, gas and tires get expensive.

Try 30K a year in a 14mpg car.

It's a hybrid: It consumes gas and tires at the same time.

I get 28mpg with E.B.R ecm and heavy wrist : (

I'm getting around 25-30 MPG out of mine and I am full of admiration for Froggy, hypermiling is "fun" for those people that enjoy the challenge.

I sometimes think i am missing out by not having that mindset, but I'm happy enough blasting around like a big kid on mine (I just pay for it at the pumps LOL).

Visited my dealer yesterday as the LH Rear blinker packed up, he had 2 in stock, both broken LMAO, it's no big deal they'll have one in by Thursday.

The dealer actually said "I wish all our custonmers were like you" - apparently the HD crowd are getting antsy over waiting for parts : )

I ain't got an 1125 to hyper mile with. I was impressed with my blasts 59 mpg when I used to beat on it on the back roads. I kept the bike when I got an xb9s just in case I needed a high mpg vehicle. Then I started commuting 120 miles each way to boston and purchased a used 2001 honda insight (my first non-usa vehicle) it gets 50-55 mpg at 75-90 mph so now the blast is on the block. Once the stall is empty it must be filled with a 1125r. I can't imagine the handling of my xb with that kind of power.

OH, I just remembered one trip this summer where we were riding with some friends on trikes and I kept seeing instantaneous 57MPG for a period of about an hour.. it was a horrible ride but did show me that I could get good fuel economy if I wanted to LOL

I get about 33-35 on mine and I ride it pretty hard most days. I know other bikes get better MPGs but they don't provide the kind of fun the 1125R does!!!

Hypermiling on a bike meant to go balls out? Doesn't make sense to me one bit... When I go easy and really try to watch fuel economy, I'm lucky to get 200 miles on a tank - that's with about 7-10 miles into the reserve.

Just too much fun to beat on the bitch a bit - she seems to love it! :-)
