Hi guys,
this is my first belt driven bike:

Yesterday after a short run i checked my buell and have to recognize that my belt shows white "stuff" at the side...
(little fibres coming out)

Normally its sealed black with rubber
@ some other places..

Should i contact my dealer,
or is this just normal?

Thanks : )

Both of the belts i have had on mine have done that, I just assumed it is normal, but i am interested to find out if its normal also.

The belts are made similar to a loaf of bread, and each belt is a slice of that loaf. It is normal to get some some of the fibers that were cut in production to loosen and come out a little. : )

What Froggy says....also during the belt cuting/sliceing the cord fibers may not be at "exactly" the same angle, so you may have a partial cord at one or both sides of the belt.

No harm.

Whew, glad someone else had this problem. I high sided pretty hard at the track, and went down on my right side. Broke off the peg and bend the back of the rear set a little. Long story, but I had to cut the belt. When I got a new one I noticed it was rubbing on the outside on the smaller pulley and exposing some of the fibers.

Glad to know, its ok. I was afraid I had bent my tensioner pulley mount and it wasnt tracking straight. After a 30 mile ride, it was not rubbing anymore, and seems fine.

Thanks OP for asking the question, so I didnt have to!
