Really a pretty easy job, was my first one as my dealer did the first one for me for free. In fact, it took me longer to clean up the old oil I dumped all over the floor thanks to my aluminum foil guide not being strong enough for the flow on the left side. I think next time I'll try a funnel with a hose on it to get the oil into the drain pan, like a beer bong.

Just take a plastic gallon jug and cut off the top. The plastic is thin enough to conform nicely and catch most if not all the oil spewing out...and it's disposable.

Or just place the kickstand in the drain pan. Oil runs down stand, into pan, not a single drop gets spilled. Wipe before flinging stand back up. : )

I actually tried that first froggy, but my oil catch pan is one with a big screw on cap to make taking it to a parts store to dump it easier. The kick stand wouldn't go down in it and allow the pan to lay flat.

I'll try your suggestion next time Fresno, unless I come up with some brilliant contraption in the mean time that'll make me rich. : )

I got one of those big aluminum foil pans like you see catering services use. Works great, kickstand in pan and no mess. I sometimes see them at the supermarket.
