Here is a blog of me trying to make my own CR parts. My first attempt is a flyscreen with integral hand guards held on by the bar-ends.

To answer the question in your Blog - they just pull off, use pliers but wrap tape around the bar ends to save damaging them.

Seems like a bit of work to make somethingt hat's readily available (cheaply) but if it gives you pleasure then good for you : )
