to add to the list of things going wrong this week . I was changing the rear brakes and I broke one of the ears off one of the pad retaining springs It still works to hold the pad in place when putting on the caliper but its not really secure. Does it do anything other than hold the pad in place till everything is bolted up?? And how do I get another one by Friday .What are the chances of it actually being in stock anywhere?

So we all agree then . I should just ride it like I stole it and don't worry about it . The spring does not do anything anyway

The spring holds the pad to the brake pistons. If that spring were to fail your pad could come loose and possible lock up your rear wheel.
