When I first got the bike(feb 2010) I could just ride it then it was tender would keep it up for 2 or 3 days but now it every second I'm not on the bike I gotta tender it. So what does that mean??? | ||

No. In fact I accidentally discharged my battery when the bike got caught in a torrential rain storm and it came back up. Since then I have disconnected the accessory power cable from the battery. The water ponded in the rear "trunk" and the accessory cable was laying in it and it ran down the battery. Despite that it came back after a stint on the charger and has been doing it's job since 2008. If you leave your bike out where it can get wet take a look at the accessory plug and keep it on "high ground" in the trunk. | ||

nearly 2000 miles. I just ride it. No issues after a couple weeks in the garage (except for me). I keep the revs at about 4K most of the time. Don't understand the issues, and hope I never do. | ||

Batteries die a little each day. the battery If you use a charger that conditions it helps. I have 36k on mine and hook it up 3 days a week if I remember. | ||

It could be as simple as a faulty battery - what voltages are you seeing when riding? Also - does your tender have the indicator lights to show battery condition and is it one that discharges it slightly to test the battery's abiility? If so make sure it's definately showing the battery as OK. First thing to check is the terminals, mine have vibrated loose before now  Obviously it could be the charging system (stator or R/R) - looking at voltages when riding might help determine that | ||

DEAD battery today. Never had any problems prior to this. Kept the tender on it all winter. Rode yesterday, IC said 12.4-13.8, never dropped down. Battery just dead? I hope. Warranty? | ||

I keep mine on the tender all the time. It's only good for about 3 days if i forget. Seven times my bike has left me on the side of the road while on long trips. I ended up buying a solar charger and hooking it up to my battery. It fits right under my dash and you can hardly see it. No problems since i installed it. | ||

 This came up while riding today...the IC was at 12.3 at idle and upto 14.1 on highway...WTF?! | ||

Get your bike fixed. I left mine for nearly 2 months without a tender while in security mode and it still fired up, although with a cough and a low battery light. | ||

Prior to the upgrade it was ALWAYS 13.7-14.3. Did it drop to 11.6 while idling? Twice mine has dropped to 10s while idling. It stalls right around 10.0, guess how I know  | ||

They gave me a new battery and told my i had to keep it on a tender. Now my bike is out of warrenty and i cant afford to spend hundreds of dollars replacing parts. | ||

You definately should not have accepted their word on that - if you went to a bike rally, or on tour where would you plug the tender in? I use my bike most days and RARELY put it on a tender, I forgot to do it before a week away recently and it fired up perfectly when I got back. I only do rediculously short commuting journeys during the week (about 4 miles) and it still manages to replace the charge used starting and running the bike. The tender is there for my "peace of mind" not out of neccessity.. At this rate you'd be better off with an electric bike! | ||

Mine sat for atleast a month and it fired right up.You need to remember some our bike's sat at dealerships for along time not started or on a tender.I think I was fortunate.Mine had the tender plug installed when I bought it,they must have had it on a tender a lot keeping the battery fresh. |
