The "friction zone" as taught by MSF is pretty much riding the clutch to go extremely slow. To keep undue wear on the clutch packs and still transmit power it helps to "blip the throttle" whenever you feel the bike starting to stall.

Cone courses are for people who aren't quite lucky enough to have a track nearby...Not really any different than autocrossing...

I just modulate the clutch and throttle; no blipping required. But I ride a bike with big low end torque; no high revving sissy bike for me.

So...now the 1125R is a sissy bike?

Last thing I expected to hear on this site...well, except for all of the rude remarks. Didn't expect that either, but...

sissy bike?

A healthy sense of humor along with at least a 4th grade vocabulary will be key to enjoying this Buell forum.

Spending more effort talking bikes than critiquing and whining about others' posts is also highly recommended.
