I got rid of the antlers and moved my turn signals to the marker lights. Purchased an extra wire harness for the front end lights, chopped off the marker bulb socket, attached some bullet connectors and weather proofed – into the socket I put an amber 4 LED light. Will they pass inspection? Let you know in June. Pictures below.
Question- I am thinking of getting rid of the old marker light sockets and fashioning a LED lighted bolt – maybe into the wind screen screws – not there yet. In the interim – should I put some type of resistance into the old marker light sockets?
BTW my first post – I have taken a lot of information from this site – de-noiding, installing the race ECM and others – Thank you!

Can someone please tell me what the marker lights are for? I mean the headlights are always on, so what else do you need?

That was the first thing I did when I removed the mirrors. I got tired of looking at my forearms so I moved the turn signals to the marker lights (which weren't marking anything anyway). Pretty much used the same LEDs that you did.

Depending on your state laws will determine if they pass the muster. Minimum DOT requirement is 9" out from centerline of vehicle. Some states require that you can see them for some XX degrees to the side. I would not worry about the flash rate since the faster rate actually attracts MORE attention.
