Thank you, everyone for your kind words. Though the nature of his job is truly dangerous, we both knew the risks (but never thought the worst would become a reality). I miss him a great deal, and will always treasure the time we had together.

Tom truly loved what he did for a living, riding motorcycles, particularly his 1125r, and life in general. All of you on the road are at risk every time you ride, but Tom would tell all of you to KEEP RIDING and always have the mindset that the cagers are out to kill you; this way you're always aware of everyone around and you can take evasive action. Enjoy your bikes, enjoy the road, and make the best of every moment that you have.

We are all diminished by the passing of one of our own. Even more when it happens in the line of duty.

We are all enriched by the unselfish acts of one of our own. His efforts went to make the world a better place, and that lives on...and we are all proud and grateful.

Tom was very helpful to me when I first got the 1125R... he had coached me a bit via email on proper motor officer riding techniques. Great guy, he will be greatly missed. God bless him and his family.

(edit) I just noticed from Tom's memorial Facebook page that he was an Aikidoka. That's amazing, I never knew this about him. I am also a student of Aikido. Domo arigato gozaimasu.

Mrs. Coleman, although I can relate to losing a brother in blue, I cannot even begin to imagine the pain and suffering you have gone through in the last month and a half. I pray for you and your family and hope that you are able to find peace in your heart.

We do not forget those that died while protecting us from those that will do anything to harm us. God bless you...

I mourn for the cruel murder and loss of a friend here on BadWeB who was a noble man.

My prayers are for comfort and strength for Tom's family, especially his obviously wonderful wife.

Thank you ma'am for your thoughtful sharing of this most unfortunate news. God bless you.

Thanks everyone for your support & for the link to the previous thread (I didn't know how to go back).

If you are in or near the San Bernardino, CA area, the 860 Squad Club is holding the Tom Coleman memorial Poker Run on Saturday, August 7, 2010. This is the 3rd year they are holding the Poker Run, but have renamed it in Tom's honor. I was lucky enough to get to ride on the back of Tom's 1125r the first year this was held. He worked it the second year. For more information go to : http://860squadclub.blogspot.com/2010/06/2010-poke r-run.html

There are some great raffle prizes including the Buell 1125r "passenger seat" (I don't know what else to call it) and raised levers for the handlebars. Tom special ordered these but never got the chance to put them on the bike. I just got them in the mail yesterday & gave them to the 860 Squad Club.
