After considerable debate, I finally acquired my sanctioning from the wife to do my track day. I would be curious to hear from anyone who has all ready participated there this year and certainly be happy to have some fellow Buells on the track. Info can be found here: http://www.motoseries.com/trackday_cal.htm

Had a track day at the "Ledges" back in the 80's in the 914 Porsche. Probably the most fun I had in that car in the 20 years I owned it. I wore 1/2 the tread off the tires that weekend.

Nelson is a fun track, and a very fast track (average time, not top speed).
It is however, pretty bumpy.

Motoseries (Fasttrax) is a good organization, with good people. (Of course, I'm there so what would you expect

If this is your first track day you will be in a beginners' group. I'll check to see if BuellDave is instructing that weekend. If he is, we will have to see about hooking you up.

I won't have Mr. Buell there, but my race SV, yellow #123. Look me up.

I will look you up Ogo. It will be my first track day on two wheels and I am really looking forward to the instructional aspect of the experience. The automotive track days I have done were some of the most fun I have had since being forced into responsible adulthood.

Been thinking about this since it was posted earlier this morning, I might attend as well but I need new leathers and boots. Trying to figure out if I could get those before the event(and my bike since it's in for the leaking clutch)

I think Motoseries has a limited number of leathers for rent.
Go to the Web site and drop them a line.

I'll have to look into that org. I just moved not too far from Beaver and I don't think Nelson Ledges is too far from there. Although I do remember the last time I was at Nelson, it was the roughest track I've been too so you may need to play with your suspension a little to get comfortable.

Blur, where are you at? I'm about 20 minutes from Beaver Run? Also, I need a sz 50 suit and they have a VERY limited amount so no guarantee. I'll just try to hit up fleabay to see what I can find.

Pitt guy, I'm in the Cranberry area, not too far from where 76,79 and 19 all come together.

If you're looking for someone to ride with I'd love to tag along and find some good roads.

I'd check out ebay or just get one new if you're planning on doing a lot of track days.

I have an alpinestar and moto gp kangaroo suite and they are both great suites.

Blur, I'm over in Raccoon twp by the beaver valley mall - about 25 minutes from cranberry, but I'm up that way all the time since my sister lives in adams ridge. As soon as I get my bike back we'll have to go for a ride.

I found a few good leathers on ebay for about 300-400.00 which isn't too bad...

Sounds like a plan. For those prices I'd jump on a suit.

Wow -- Nelson Ledges -- used to race there 'way back in the '60s, even before they expanded it with that loop. It was bumpy then, too.

Pburgh: I purchased the Buell 98101(brand new with tags) circumferential zippered upper and lowers. I paid $550, including freight, from CO to OH. I could not be more happy and wear these every single time I ride. Above 90 F they get quite sweaty, but below that they are not bad with the sweet spot being around 65F. Below 50 F I wear thermals underneath and have never been cold even in the mid 30's. IMO they are very well made.

I am curious to know how the registration process work. How likely is it that they will run out of space if I wait until the last minute to confirm the weather conditions?
