I looked in the shop manual, and haven't found a fuel filter for these bikes. If anyone knows where it is, please let us know. If there isn't one, I'll be shocked.

It wouldn't surprise me that there is no fuel filter. New cars are starting to come with out one either. they have a strainer on the fuel pump but no replaceable filter. The reasoning behind this is that the refining process has come far enough that the manufacture's have decided that a fuel filter is not necessary.

With all due respect. I'm looking for verification that there is, or is not, a fuel filter. Not, (It wouldn't surprise me speculation).

I was just stating what the automotive industry is doing and considering you have the manuel and can't find it I'm pretty dam sure you answered your own question.

Check where the fuel pump is. The XB motors had a fuel filter in the fuel pump assembly

If it does it is integrated into the fuel pump. I see no listing for a separate fuel filter

Lastonetherebuys, this is what I hate about the internet. I started my response to you, "with all due respect", and you still misinterpret my intent. I'm trying to be kind, but you take it personal. PLEASE, realize, i'm trying the best I can to be civil. When I looked in the manual, I just skimmed over it quickly. That's why I asked the question. Again, I'm trying to be kind.

right from the owners manual

Fuel Filter: Buell Models

The fuel pump assembly located in the frame fuel cell includes a fuel filter. The fuel filter does not require any maintenance.

and there isnt a separate part number for the filter
