I got the pump gas version of the ECM about two months ago, right before they came out with all the additional specific versions.

Installed it on my 2009 CR (a CA bike), along with a 49-state stock exhaust, as Erik Buell Racing wasn't entirely confident about how it would work with a catalytic-equipped bike.

Overall, a significant improvement in low-speed/low throttle performance, nice soft engine feel, power is fine, etc. I'd say it's about an 80% overall improvement to the fueling. However - the surging that used to be around 4K with the stock ECM has now moved up to 5K. There's a band from about 4800 - 5200, peaking right at 5K, that has me looking down every time I cruise there to see if I'm running out of gas.

Anyone else having this issue, and if so have you gotten any feedback from Erik Buell Racing? I've been emailing them for a couple of weeks now.

Kevin, my E B R pump gas that I received a few weeks back has been absolutely perfect, from low to high no matter the conditions. My bike is an '09R (49-state) with the Cali Can dealer installed post-delivery, stock exhaust and air filter. Hope you get yours sorted Sir!

Kevin, Send it back and ask them to update it. It shouldent surge.

Another thing before you do that, is that you need to be 100% sure you have no air leak somewhere, or bad batterycable or a lot of other things.

The Erik Buell Racing ECM cured what little surging remained after the 142 flash on my 09 1125R to be honest.

Thanks for that thread link, to be honest I just saw "2009 Surging" and assumed it was with the stock ECM.
