Do these things work pretty good? My bike is undergoing a transformation into strictly track bike over the winter, and im about to start ordering parts. Im used to using PC3's on my 4cyl bikes where you just tune it. Im just curious if these ECU's being mapped in a different part of the country is gonna make it run like crap here because of the different air and atmosphere?

Awesome. Is it like a lot of other ECUs that do a little minor adjusting when you first plug them in?

If you're using race fuel, make sure you get the one for race gas, and not pump gas.

I thought my '09R OEM flash (#142) was as good as it could get ... But that's until I installed the E B R unit. Love it!! My bike was at the dealer yesterday to have new tires installed. The tech that did the test ride afterwards came back to say "That's the smoothest running 1125 that I've ever been on." Agreed!

Mr_incognito, they work exactly like the stock unit but with better programming on it. The ECMs come from the same supplier as the stock ECM, so its just as good. It still can do environmental fueling compensations like the stock unit.

In my opinion it is much better than a piggy back unit like the Power commander, as the PC tricks the bike into running differently. This can potentially cause problems as sometimes the bike will think its running rich and then try to lean itself out, resulting in the Power commander attempting to dump in more fuel. It turns into a tug of war match until the bike runs like crap.

The Erik Buell Racing ECM will not do that.

Went home on my lunch hour today and popped in the Erik Buell Racing ECM and rode the CR back to work. So far everyone is right on with their description:

1) Much less engine braking (watch those turn entrances)

2) Runs around 10 - 12 degrees coolor

3) Very smooth below 4K RPM and feels more torquey down low

4) No throttle assist when letting out the cluch (I stalled it at the first stop light!!!)

5) Consistent power delivery throughout the RPM range

6) Slight surging between 5K and 6K ...

That was all obvserved with a 17 mile ride back to work ...

I thought the slight surges at 5-6k was very dangerous in the curves. I was in a tight curve when I first got it and the bike was hiccuping badly 5-6 k. I added some fuel and diconnected the 02s and it was spot on smooth. Mine was a little herky jerky as well. Overall the ECM makes more power over stock . It's very noticeable.
