I just ordered the buell tail bag (p/n 88203-09Y) at Bruce Rossmeyers for $75 shipped to california, if you live in Florida you can pick it up for $59.
The tailbag retails for $150, so it is a great deal. Just thought i would share this. I have been looking for a tailbag for a while, and this is the first time i have seen the buell tailbag for under $100.

great price on this bag
I have it and love it, holds quite a bit of stuff
I love the built in rain guard that has a little pocket so its out of the way, as well as the shoulder sling strap that stows away underneat in a hidden compartment as well.

has some pockets/holders in the lid and sides, its great!

i LoveD the Buell tailbag for my XB. The semi rigid, expandable design is great, IMO. This thing looks huge, but I am sure it's way functional. Ordered. Thanks for the heads up!

Destination Daytona only 57.8 miles from me. My cr should be here from McHenry HD the middle of next week, that should be a great break in ride.

Thanks for the heads up DK. I have been thinking about one of these for awhile, as I currently ride with a backpack about 95% of the time. I would prefer to go with the tank bag, but don't think it will have enough capacity for me. Hopefully I can convince my wife that it will make a great father's day present!

clk92vette,
I also ride with a backpack, i commute home from college on the weekends, and it sucks to ride with a backpack for a long distance. I can do it, but it will be much better to have this bag. From the measurements that i took, with the extension on the tailbag has a bigger capacity then my backpack.

Hey, it's listed in Buell's catalog!

That means it should only take about two years to get! hardley-ableson has gone through great trouble to make sure that anything you order from them takes about two years to get.

Of course, if it's sold by someone else it should take only a week at most....

mcballpeen,
Bruce Rossmeyer has the tail bag in stock. If you live in Florida you can drive to the dealership and pick it up. When I ordered mine they had over 50 in stock.

How does the tailbag attach? Does it need the passenger peg mounts to be present?

I haven't received my bag yet, but from the pic on buells website it looks like the bag mounts to the passenger seat and the passenger pegs. Click on the link in my original post and you can see a pic of the bag mounted on an 1125, it doesn't show the passenger pegs, so its hard to tell where that back strap is mounted.

I wonder if Rossmeyer carries the tank bags too and if they are discounted like the tail bag. I think I would rather have the tank bag since you need the passenger pegs to secure the tail bag. I took off the passenger pegs the day I brought my CR home.

johnnys99,
you should call them, there are three buell luggage accessories that they are discounting, I don't remember what the other two are, because i was only looking for the tail bag.

I got my tailbag, it looks great. I haven't mounted it up yet because my bike is in pieces, but the bag is great. It has waterproof zippers, and a cover that covers the whole bag to make it even more waterproof. Also, the bag is a great size, my 12" laptop fits in easily. I can fit everything i need for a weekend into this bag, which is what i bought it for.

I called a couple of days ago and they told me they had 9.

I went in to the parts counter this morning in Daytona. The parts guy checked the computer and said were showing zero, but I think I have one more in the back.

Got it! I would have been bummed because I drove 58 miles one way.

There is an HD dealer in Michigan in a town where the RAPIDS aren't GRAND and neither is the city. $100 all day for the tail bag. They are cool to deal with also.

I just bought a tailbag on ebay for 100 bucks shipped. Are the passenger pegs required to mount it? I bought it before I saw the cut-off Buell picture that shows a strap pointing at the end of the peg...
