Just wondering after removal of passenger foot pegs and mount assemblies, what you guys did, or where you routed the black vent/ overflow hose that was originally attached to left passenger foot peg. Is this hose even essential to keep in place, or can it just be removed altogether? Any disadvantage or negative effects if removed?

Thanks!

The plastic crazy straw that fishes down the passenger peg bracket needs a snip and them a piece of 1/4" fuel resistant line needs to go almost straight down behind the heel guard. Otherwise fuel will make the swing arm look like crap in no time. That breather pukes gasoline on a regular basis so you want to route it away from painted parts. I tucked the hose I used into the bracket and my state inspection tag. Watch the belt doesn't wear it through.

I slid mine straight down under the seat and ran it along the engine case... sits pretty good, does drip a little on the exhaust though, but I'm not worried.

Puking gas when stopped on a hot exhaust and you're not worried? Your threshold's a lot higher than mine I guess

I think I'll reroute my line when I get more tube. It's just waiting to get snatched up by the belt.

Install the Cali canister - Worked like a charm for me. No more drip and I can remove the rear pegs ... Both required to get on the track about a couple of hours from home.

Zacks- Mine doesn't really puke, just a few drops every once in a while. I can tell you that the gas just drips down the exhaust when it's hot, but even if it was hot enough to flash up, it's only a drop. From my experience, liquid gas is much much safer than fumes. The proof is in experience though...I've got about 8 months of riding it that way in 85+ degree weather with no issues. Who knows, I might be playing with fire...

pulled my hose all the way up and ran it down past the shock, then cable tied it to right hand footrest bracket. it clears the exhaust and is just the right length. never had a drip of fuel out of it tho, just did it as i dont carry passengers

Actually I just looked at my bike again...I've got it routed down the stator side of the bike and it goes right next to the shifter. The only time it might drips on the exhaust is sitting at a traffic light. When the bikes on the kickstand it clears the exhaust by a couple inches.

I ran mine up the back, across the inside of the rear wheel fender, under the tail light, hooked up a spark plug with a hot wire & toggle on, so I go down the road I can hit the flame thrower button and shoot fire out of the back. OK, not really, but it'd be cool, only thing you'd probably be able to do it once, ouch. LoL

California Evap Can is the best way to go and HD does it for free.

Tell me more about HD doing the Evap Can for Free. How do you approach that. Do you have to be in California?

Deuceal, you don't have to be in California, but you do need to ring H-D customer service directly. My dealer (who is great by the way) couldn't get H-D to pick up the tab on my 49-state (Missouri) bike ... But when I rang H-D and told them the situation, they provided me an authorization number for the work. I gave that number to my dealer, and they took care of everything else. For the benefits, I would paid or installed it myself ... But it's hard to beat free ; )
