p 1503 fault code (s stand sys err) any advice what this fault may actually be ? I realise it means sidestand system error but does anyone know if the code relates to a reason for the fault ie shorted wire etc ?
I will book at dealer, but any clues to help them appreciated.

The side stand switch probably is bad most likely.

Yes, I though I had read about faulty switches? I believe the switch is a "hall effect" type ? I will see if I can get my dealer to order a new one in ready to fit.

It is indeed a hall effect one... Have a quick check to see if the nut's still attached to the sidestand as it uses that to sense the stand being up..

Yes the nut is there, the light came on after I had just started the engine with the side stand down.I will have a closer look in the morning in case there is a plug loose ?
