Looking for some advice...

When I take the 1125R up past 5k rpms i start getting some slack in the clutch lever, meaning that there's some play before the clutch engages. The result is that my lever only works maybe 2/3 of the distance between being fully out and to the grip. I checked the fluid levels, all good (just had the clutch seals and cover fixed at the dealership). Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

Thanks in advance.

Does this happen while the gas is still quite open, or once you have closed the throttle?

I wonder if you are feeling the vacuum assist?

This happens consistently for 5-10 minutes before it returns to normal. It's very strange. I guess it makes for faster shifts but, also greater margin of error to dump the clutch. It's also not normal and probably means there's a problem.

You might try bleeding the clutch. I wonder if your dealer screwed up the bleed?

first thing as suggested above would be to bleed it then go from there

Possible...(sigh) time to break out the service manual.

Any pointers on this...the search function never works for me on this forum for some reason.

I bleed the clutch with a piece of vinyl tubing and a jar. Crack open the bleeder nipple, attach the tube to the bleeder so it's tight on it then finger-tight the bleeder.

Now, here's the tricky bit. Apply pressure to clutch lever. Twist open the bleeder (using the tube) ever so slightly so that fluid comes out. BEFORE you get to the bar with the lever, close the bleeder finger-tight again.

Repeat about 50 times, filling the open res until clear, new fluid comes out.

If you find air, you'll know it.

mighty-vac would be a good thing in this case. also a speed bleeder type nipple would be helpful as well

Update...rode to work on the bike. Tried some engine braking and wide open on the throttles on my way home...No problems.

I'm thoroughly confused now.
