after installing the Erik Buell Racing pump gas race ECM I got from a guy on here, (please don't take it as I am blaming anyone I am not!)

Swapped ECM w/ following procedure:

1.with key out of the bike, I disconnected negative terminal on battery
2.took off left side radiator cover
3. swapped ECMs
4.replaced left side radiator cover
5.reconnected negative battery terminal
6.reset TPS per instructions found on badweb
7.rode bike keeping rpm as close as I could to 3500rpm as possible for 10 min.

I noticed the battery light later that day at low speed w/ hi beams on or after engine was shut off w/ key on(hi beams on or off did not matter).

200-300 miles later the engine light comes on at lower rpm(less than 3500) then goes off with rpm increase.

Did I do something wrong?

Is this normal?

How do I fix it?

Its an 09 1125R built in Oct. 08 according to the sticker on the frame. Bike is stock except for K&N filter and ECM. Numbers on ECM are M3SPB062 and Y0152.10AZ . Thanks for the help.

Jared

Looks like your stator is on its way out, what is the voltage while you are running, have you had the bandaid fix done, harness upgrade?

first things first. what are the codes?

second, find out from ebr if the ecm you have is setup for use with our without the stator control relay harness overlay.

At 70-75(4500 ish rpm) voltage is anywhere between 13.5 and 14.5.

I just went outside and ran it at idle for for almost 10min.
Was ran for the first 3-5 minutes with hi beams on. The voltage got down to 11.7 after the fans kicked on. The battery lamp lit up after voltage dropped below 11.9 and 30 seconds later the engine lamp lit up after voltage dropped below 11.8, about 30 seconds later the message " system voltage" appeared on screen for about 5-10seconds then went away. I then turned the hi beams off and system voltage immediately started climbing. When the voltage output was up to 12.0 both lamps went out. I turned the hi beams on again to repeat the experiment and this time no system voltage message. I turned the hi beams off again let voltage get back above 12, again lamps went out and I shut off the bike. I noticed the fans did not run after the bike was shut off like usual.

Gemini, how do I retrieve codes or are you referring to the message that appears in the bottom "window"

So assuming stator is going out, what is an approximated life expectancy?

is your harness upgraded? I believe the new ECM's have been set up for the upgraded harness if it is and yours is not it could cause a problem either way best to sort out what it isn't as well as what it is

I don't know if the harness has been installed or not, I will call the dealer tomorrow to see if my VIN has anything on it.
