The Saddleman Track Gel is the way to go. Count me in. I kinda like the idea of the carbon gel channel. Black on black works also. Thanks DannyBuell. |

OK, finally some progress made on the seat sourcing. The person I needed to talk to was out of country, and then out for a medical issue. But the comm channels are open now. I have access to the necessary seat pans, and I have Saddlemen's attention, they're in. There won't be a bunch of different options. Folks that want something custom can always do the saddlemen option of sending their seat in to Saddlemen to do whatever they want. THis won't be that. I've asked them to build a clone of the existing Buell P&A seat, sans logo, and a second, yet to be configured version based on the consensus of this thread. I won't dismiss the possibility of a third version, but not to start with. From the thread so far, I'd be inclined to believe that the second seat would be the Track style Gel version. Likely black, NO logos. I've just finished the conversations with them on this, and they are doing some digging now based on my input. I do not have price info at this time, that'll come in time. thanks al. i just might have to hang onto the 12r as it is right now and with a different seat, it just might help. now i'll just have to readjust the handlebar situation. |

Neil, Not to spin this whole thread down a different path, but the firebolt version of the 1125 jogged bars will be up on the website within a week or so. See http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/543811.html?1267811493#POST1747724 . If you're looking for a whole lot more than 1.1 inches of rise, the 9077 LSL conversion makes it a sit up bike, see http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-prodshow/9077.html

I'm definitely interested in a seat that makes for more comfortable distance riding. Is there a sticky or something that shows what is going on with this group buy or do I have to read all 300+ posts? |

--Comfort Seat Group Buy Summary-- The focus shifted away from the Original Comfort Seat when it was discovered that it was made in China. The original price goal fell by the wayside for this very reason. Several vendors were looked at and for a variety of reasons Saddlemen was selected. One of the more compelling reasons has to do with their unique gel channel design which protects those veins that when damaged lead to ED. It was decided that any business should be channelled through a BWB sponsor. Al at American Sport Bike said he had the designer of the original comfort seat in mind and then went off to the raceway to perform the exhaust system dyno shootout testing. Meanwhile the group discussed all of the other vendors and voted on Saddlemen. There have been 42 Saddlemen votes and 1 Corbin. Saddlemen disclosed to me that a 25 seat order would get them started on design. Al came in at that time and said that Saddlemen was who he had in mind. Dean Adams at Keda Design also offered to facilitate. In the meantime the opinion seemed to sway to Al. This may be because a lot of people are waiting to receive one of Dean's stainless steel exhaust creations and nobody wants to let Dean sway from his backlog! We are waiting for Al to get his shootout results posted we he can do some business with us. THX |

I am definitely interested in a "long distance comfortable seat" but want to know what the final product will look like and what it's price will be as well. I currently have the Buell touring seat (well used and likely not as comfortable as it once was). I don't care were it's made and suspect that only a handful of parts that comprise the 1125 are actually made in North America ..... (puts on my asbestos leisure suit) ..... OK 'Mericans ..... Flame away |

Well, before I flame Aj, add me to the list Aj, just because most of the parts of our bikes were made somewhere else, doesn't mean we can't choose where the aftermarket parts come from. Oh... what... you thought I was going somewhere sinister? Nah. Not my bag. Does that leisure suit itch? Oh well... ATGATT |

I got it and it is way softer than the touring factory seat dreamed of being . My trim guy add 2"'s of foam under the original stock piece(of foam).Than made a leather cover. I got a 30 mile ride home the real test will be later this week when i ride allot at home coming. the factory touring seat kills me when we ride 2 up.(working on getting my gf her own bike). I will snap some pics and post them up later tonight |

Ok basically he took the stock pan and formed foam added 2" of closed cell foam under the formed piece. Than hand stiched the leather cover it feels alot like it looks like stitting on a pillow. he left the cover on the loose side incase i wanted more padding definetly not. i may end up having him put some firmer foam and tightening the cover. Total cost thus far $150 |
