anyone know or have any guesses on whether or not the Erik Buell Racing race ECM can affect the reliability of the 09 stators? either adversely or beneficially? say with the new harness even?

or do you think that it probably makes no difference?

Absolutely no difference.

I did ask that of Erik Buell Racing before ordering my new ECM since my stock '09R bike has the new charging system subharness. The reply was that their ECM is programmed to take advantage of the harness just like the latest factory flashes. I'll find out shortly!

I researched this with Erik Buell Racing before buying my race ecm from them. The coding in the 142 and 152 ECM flashes for the harness relay control is also in the Erik Buell Racing ECMs.
I can confirm this is the case having checked the operation carefully.

I trust ebr completely, those guys are amazing. If you are unsure, shoot them an email, they are always happy to answer questions. But i think i have heard on here before that the ebr ecm is programmed to take advantage of the harness upgrade.

Be careful. Make sure you get a CURRENT Race ECM. I am pretty sure I have seen an early one that does NOT control the harness.

Dirty,
How did you confirm operation? Have you figured out the conditions?
