Really? That is weird. No splices mentioned in the instructions. I think I am aware of the "splce" you are referring to. It isn't a result of the charging harness. It must be from the factory.

I have an ECM log of the stalls if anyone would like to see it.

The charging harness is pin 21 on the BLACK connector. They shouldn't have touched it.

Avc,
I did a 3 minute log of mine during idle/warm up just the other day. Might be beneficial to put them side by if nothing sticks out like a sore thumb in yours.

S21125r,
Well, your bike does not have a spike in injector pulses. Mine spikes at the stall point. ~3.5 normally and jumps to ~11 at the stall. No indication as to why.

I noticed the same thing... Pulse spikes, VE spikes and spark advance drops to zero, then the very next log entry they are back - then RPM drops out shortly after. Spark, VE and PW are consistent showing the same pattern for the next 3-4 stalls, but not for the last 3 stalls. Could be that the logging interval is just long enough that the logging is missing those blips.
I think what we are seeing is a clue, just don't know where to steer you. CT and AT seems to be tracking OK. RPM is obviously being logged. TPS and Battery do not have any blips either.

Yeah, I noticed that stuff. I just don't where it takes me. I wish the logs had sensor inputs. Something is triggering the ECM to spread the injector pulse width.

VE is where in the map it looks. I believe that is a calculated value.

If I had to take a guess, I'd say try swapping the Baro sensor if you have a donor available. Should be pretty easy to get to for a quick test.

I tried swapping the baro with the one from my 08...FAIL. Idled for about a minute and went dead. No CEL.

Decided to do some more troubleshooting today. I figured every 09 has had stator failure so why not check it?

Following the electrical manual:
Check each terminal of stator connector to ground, if continuity things are bad.
OK
Check resistance between any 2 terminals, if > .1-.3 ohms things are bad.
OK
Check AC voltage between any 2 terminals, @3k rpm, 45-55V AC.
Terminals 1 and 2 make 3 V AC!
All other combinations meet spec.

Hmm.

Anthony pull the farkin harness upgrade out if you can get it back to factory spec and see if the problem goes away. This has every making of a poor connection or something in wrong check the plugs where the relay go make sure they are all ok I need to get over by you but I got 0 time right now maybe friday after work. Even if you disconnect the entire charging system charge the battery full and see what going on you figure it out faster than H-D will

Charging harness has nothing to do with those stator results. They are taken directly from the stator plug with the regulator/rectifier and the harness out of the loop.

I WOULD agree with the bad connection idea, except for the fact that I have ridden over 500 miles like this!
