Looking for frame sliders for the 1125, similar to these --> http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/17061.html I haven't seen any while searching Ebay either. If you have another solution, please let me know. I want to avoid the hole in the tank/frame. | ||

Get the frame pucks from the Uly. They go right on, just have to work them under the pods a little. Your Buell dealer can order them for you or American Sport Bike has them and I know some guys on here have fitted them. I don't know which ones are which, but there are definitely some that DON'T work. I was in a HD shop sometime back and picked a set off the rack and saw that they did not fit. Not all the frames are identical, even though they look similar. | ||

Thanks for the info Noah. It's confirmed the Uly pucks will work. Found this thread with some pic links I'll have to pick some up. I'm in the market for frame sliders too. I've been searching around a little. I'm really worried after seeing some pics of these bikes in crashes.I found a seller on eBay that I'm working out a package deal on frame and axle sliders. He has good feedback. It has to be a good price for me to jump. | ||

I've crash tested the pods, did what it was supposed to do, not a scratch on the frame. That ebay thing looks like it could dig in and cause more damage than good. What does it mount to?  | ||

I crash tested the pods too. actually my brother did. The bike rolled three times. one pod was fine, and one i replaced for $50. The stator cover and clutch engine covers cost about $300 each, those are what you want to protect. ebr sells the carbon fiber clutch and stator covers for $140 each. my stator cover got shredded in the wreck  Those frame sliders are so small, that if you hit dirt or rocks i don't think they would help much. And you are better off letting the pod take the impact instead of the engine mounts. One other thing to note. I have to replace my frame because the clubman bars bent into my frame, and the pointy part of the clubman bars put a hole in the frame. I am confident that if I had the high handle bars they would not have put a hole in the frame because the highbars have a flat profile. | ||

I just noticed in the picture of my stator cover it looks like the vertical oil line is bent a little bit, is that normal? | ||

I remember that too - I didn't pitch in at the time but I have to say I agreed with your assessment. Frame pucks, axle sliders and the pods are all I have and I'm happy enough. When I can afford it I'll buy the carbon covers too but not frame sliders... | ||

I asked some questions concerning the frame sliders breaking the frame as many have suggested on the superbike board. He stated The aluminum pieces don't extend farther than the pods. In fact the delrin plastic pucks are flush with the pods they are .800 long. In a event of accident causing massive force the puck might snap leaving the pod to flex in and grind with the frame slider conjoining the two if the pod is flexed in under extreme loads . This will end up in both frame and pods working together .It will add support to ensure ecm ,radiators,fans and the rest isn't ruined. It makes sense how he designed em. He offered me frame and axle shipped for 180.00 . I'll report back soon. If they are garbage I'll send em back. | ||

The Uly/Lightning Long Frame pucks are no longer available. I hope they'll come back, but the rumor I heard is that in the shut down chaos, the manufacturer was told to destroy the tooling. We had a bunch on order, HD canceled the order. AL | ||

Confirmed. Just got off the phone with my local Buell dealer -- unless you can find a shop with the Uly/Lightning Long pucks in stock you're out of luck. I had them on order for over 2 months, and HD cancelled the order directly. Blah. At least I've got the Pelacrash sliders installed now... | ||

I had a chance to crash test the GrandStandDesign case sliders with LHS lowside slide at 50mph, the sliders held up pretty well however the stator cover and hard oil lines did not  | ||

The case covers from Erik Buell Racing are the heat...I saw one crash tested at MMP and they take a lot of damage and keep on ticking. Probably good for 2-4 crashes, depending on the severity. They are definitely on the top of list of stuff to get before tracking the bike. I'd say that between these and any sort of thru-axle slider and some bar-ends, you'd be good. Also had DarkHorseMoto Rear Axel sliders which saved the rear swingarm quite well. However the stand bobbins were ripped out because of the Loctite used, so the swingarm got replaced, as did the rear sprocket and belt.  Apologies for the crappy phone pics. I had the DarkHorseMoto spools on they are aluminium and come with loctite. Its probably better if you don't use the loctite or stick with the stock plastic ones. | ||

I think the loctite issue depends on the crash -- I've had them shear off as well, and I don't think it was a function of loctite. If you DON'T use loctite or safety wire on them, they will back out with use, just because of the nature of the action of using the rear stand. | ||
