Since checking the oil level is a bit of a bother, I tend not to. Any of you more ambitious types notice any drop in the level?

A guy I know with an X1 did the same thing...then had a bad valve guide seal and roached his motor when the oil went away.

Do yourself a favor and check it on a regular basis.

While the cold check isnt he best way to do it, it will give you an indicaiton if you are low and is pretty easy to do

I have not noticed any oil burning whatsoever.

Every bike is different.....check your oil.

rebuilding a motor is a bit of a bother too... and alot more expensive...

1st 1,000 miles I was definitely burning oil. Since then, it has tapered off. At 3,500 miles I am burning little to no oil.

Mine sounded louder and was running kinda hard. I was a quart low. At about 2500 miles
