Since i put my Michelin pure powers on.
I can't seem to keep the front wheel on the ground.
Every time i accelerate it lifts i twitch the bar and get a tank slap or head shake on set down.
I added 10#'s of torque to the head bearings it was no help.
So is there any dampers under $500??
I am leaning toward the GPR. for the ease adjustment on the fly, looks good.
Not to mention my Buddy wrecked his firebolt he emailed them about buying just the bracket that broke and there reply was it is covered under warranty send it in we will send you a new one.

The Ohlins is pretty popular.
I'm pretty sure most of them are under 500 dollars.

Also, keeping your weight off the handlebars/wrists (gripping the frame with your legs) will keep you from landing the wheelie with your tire not parallel to the road.

How does a tire change make you wheelie more often?

There was a thread about a month ago and one guy said he was thinking about fabbing mounts to allow cheap dampers (under $100, most likely) to be used on the 1125R. I meant to look up that thread and PM him to see if he'd taken any steps towards this. I definitely would like to put a steering damper on my R but have been perfectly happy with the cheap OEM ones that have come on othe bikes I've owned. There's no way I can justify $400-$500 for a damper when a $30 unit from Ebay would be fine--if I had some way to mount it!

The pure powers have a ton of grip and are light weight carcases (rear is claimed 2#'s lighter than any other 180 tires)
I would get occasionally get it with the corsa 3's. But it is like every time i throttle up now even placing my weight as far forward as i can.

Under acceleration weight transfers to the rear of the bike as the shock compresses. This is when your front end lifts. Stiffen up your rear spring, increase the preload. If you weigh more than 170lbs you need the proper rear spring for your weight.

I weigh 165 and set the factory suspension from the owners manual than added another round to the front because it dipped severally.under had brake entering

Got my GPR on ebay for around $360 last year. Very happy with it. I only turn it to 7 for drag racing, and 1 for street riding. I just dont like the feel of it any higher for street.
I did find that 90% of the 'shakes' were from having a deathgrip on the bars.
Follow what Dannybuell said, and also add a click or two of rebound up front to slow the rise.

Correct. Dampers are meant to stop an unrecoverable head shake under braking or other loaded front conditions, NOT to sort out bad rider input under throttle.

A tire that is skimming the pavement under acceleration may have a tendency to cause headshake regardless of rider input. The 1125r is especially prone to that given its torque and short gearing. Practically every other bike I've owned including middleweights and literbikes will keep the front tire firmly planted or loft it into the air--rarely if ever would the front tire just skim the pavement. And of course the 1125r is the only bike I've owned that will headshake with any real consistency. So, yeah, I think it needs a steering damper.

Thanks everyone they asked me to fill out the paper work to become a vendor.
I run an auto repair shop and do some bike work as well.
I have tried to keep the wheel straight but had two nasty ones on sunday.
I road 16k on my xb9 last year and never got a head shake this bike seems to need a damper
