I was hoping to adjust my suspension during lunch today, but when I remove the rear pillion I see nothing but a battery. My wife confirmed over the phone that the manuals says it is in the trunk pan. Am I missing something, or is it on someone's bench at the dealership. | ||

prolly got forgotten in the setup. are you the original owner? if so might ask the dealer or give buell a call | ||

You are supposed to have a tool kit - it is listed on Page 89 of the Owners Manual. I am unable to find a P/N for it, however. It does not surprise me that it is missing. My last bike was a Harley and they do not come with any tools. Hopefully the dealership will provide one since they are supposed to give you a "walk-around" of the bike before you leave with it. Sounds like that did not happen. | ||

lots of bikes dont get teh tool kits installed or tucked into their hidey hole for some reason. | ||

Call the dealer. Mine had one and the dealer made sure to check for it prior to delivery. Wish they had the coolant level while they were at it.  | ||

The tool kit is very important because it has the unique tool needed to remove the rear wheel. | ||

Check under the rider seat as some dealers might have stuck it under there by mistake, not thinking that you need the 30mm star tool to remove the seat to get to it, as mine got stuck there once from the dealer | ||

I would say look under the rider seat, but you kind of need the tool kit to do that. | ||

Success!!! I started checking the hidey holes last night with my wife. Today at lunch I pulled off the main seat and there was my tool kit. I also pulled the air box cover to check the air cleaner. Everything was fine except for the fact that the internal brass threads on one of the lower T-30's, that fasten the air box cover, were buggered up. Fortunately we have a machine shop and I was able to chase the threads and get it back together during lunch. Nothing's beats finding a pleasant surprise in an uncharted hidey hole! |
