Greetings everybody,
I am hoping someone can help with a dilemma I am having. I recently took my 09 1125CR to the dealer to have a FMF Apex slip on, K&N filter, the PC V installed and dyno tuned. The dealer called the next day and said that the bike was throwing the O2 sensor code. I did double check and it is the right code. We let the bike cool off for a while, came back and*magic* the engine light was off. It seemed to be related to heat ie: bike gets hot-light comes on. My question is, is this something that I am going to have to live with?(intermittent engine light) or could there be a problem with my bike's ecm? The tech said the light did not turn on when he did the test ride but they could not guarantee that it will not happen again. They said if the light does come on again try to cycle it off and see if that works. I did contact DynoJet and they said they never herd of any such problem. (B.S. meter on alert!)I thought the PC V was supposed to fix the problem of not having the O2 sensor with an aftermarket pipe. Has anyone ever done a combo? (Erik Buell Racing race ECM AND a PC V? ) By the way I did get some pretty good numbers after the tune(around 135HP and 79TQ. I will post the tune when I get a copy from the dealer.)
Does anyone have any suggestions? (Sorry, black tape over the light is not an option!)
Thanks in advance.
Leon.

Disconnect the the factory o2 sensors and the promlem is fixed. If you tune a PC v the O2 will try to lean the bike back to factory specs.. I had the same issue.

Need to figure out where the Learned Fuel area is so you can tune that area to 14.7 like we do on the XB's with ECM-Spy. It will be happy then. Disconnecting the stock O2 sensors is knida defeating the whole purpose--your bike would not be able to adjust for changes in altitude etc.

How many miles do you have on the bike? I have an intermittant front O2 sensor error on mine, happens after a spirited ride and the EM light comes on and stays on.

Took it to the dealer and got the "a lot of them do that when they're running in" line, but oddly enough it hasn't happened in the past few weeks so maybe it wasn't the BS i took it to be..

Someone posted that their AFV's didn't change after a trip through death valley, from below sea level to above 4,000 feet. I can't see how the 02 sensors do anything other than control emissions. The baro sensor is used to compensate for altitude.

I have a pcv and never have gotten a error code, both 02's disconnected.

Dynojet even says to disconnect the o2 sensors. The PCV is what you use to tune. If the o2 is hooked up it is going to try and lean the ecm to the factory paramaters. and the you will trip a trouble code as the o2 reading too rich. I have been using the PCV for a while now. and I just upgraded to the autotune with dual o2 sensors. Think about all other FI bikes with out o2 sensors, You put a powercommander on and your tune and you are done. The PCV is built to not ues the factory o2.

I am sorry I wasn't as clear as I should have been. The code happens when we disconnect the O2 sensor. When they hook it back up the code goes away. I picked the bike up today and they told me that the code will turn on if the bike hits 200 degrees F. The bike was smoother with the tune but still a little jerky at low rpm. I am considering the Erik Buell Racing race ecm and having the PC V installed for the dyno. The FMF sounds good but I don't really notice a lot of difference yet. I guess I'll have to ride more later( the weather is crappy here in the Seattle area for the next few days) The dyno was 133.6 HP and 74.59 TQ. A little lower than I said before but I did not have the chart at that time.

Mine was tuned with the PCV and when I first start it, the engine light is on for a second and shuts off.

It should be smooth at low rpms. Sounds like they didn't spend enough time tuning there.

There should be no check engine light for the O2's when the sensors are disconnected... in the DIAG mode you should see the voltage stay steady at .4-.5 for f/r sensors.. ensure that the plug is not grounding out on the bike somewhere..

DYNOJET is full of it about not being told about the O2 sensor light coming on.. it has happened and they know about it... but it does seem random and does not decrease power...dyno proven..
Only other time i have noticed this condition is when the bike is WAY out of whack on the tune... Either WAY rich or WAY lean...

Pm me if you want a Number for " the " tuner at dyno jet....

DVY_bby9.. if you see the check engine light Twice.. it turns on, goes out and then comes back on again for 10 sec or so, you have historical codes.. run the DIAG mode and se what they are...

I don't mean to thread jack but this is concerning the PC V with out the auto tune? Correct?

I'm planning on getting the PC V with the auto tune. Has anyone seen any issues with the auto tune? From what I understand its a pretty simple plug and play.
